Evergreen Terrace - Wolfbiker

Evergreen Terrace's latest album, Wolfbiker, was released back at the end of 2007. Their previous album was released in 2005, and while I love this band, I hadn't listened to them for several months, thus I missed this album. And I'm sorry to say I didn't get this album sooner because it seriously kicks ass.

A Wilhelm Scream - Career Suicide

I have a new favorite band. It's a band that I've liked and known about for only a couple years now, though they've been around a bit longer. I first heard this band at a concert. I liked their sound so I bought their CD and loved it. Now two years later, they've released another album. The band is A Wilhelm Scream and the album is Career Suicide.

Anatomy of Your Enemy

I was listening to some of my older music today and came across this little gem from a great punk band, Anti-Flag. The song is called Anatomy of Your Enemy and was released on their album Mobilize in 2002 (OK, so it's not that old). I think this song greatly sums up what the Bush Administration has been doing with the War on Terrorism. Check out the lyrics below and see if you can see Bush and his goons follow these steps perfectly.

Strung Out - Blackhawks Over Los Angeles

This was probably my most anticipated albums this year. On June 12 one of my favorite punk bands, Strung Out, released their seventh full length album titled Blackhawks Over Los Angeles. This album is described as metal influenced punk that is technical and aggressive yet melodic and emotional. That description fits perfectly for their previous albums, but I wouldn't classify this album as that. Unfortunately.

I dedicate this article to Bigwig

Bigwig is one of my favorite punk bands. I also believe they are one of the most under rated bands out there. Most have never heard of them, which is normal, but a lot of people in the punk genre haven't either! Blasphemy! They're one of my favorite punk bands out there. Sure they've had their ups and downs and while their newest CD is not my favorite, I still think they're one of the best punk bands around.

I dedicate this article to Strung Out

In my eyes, one of the best bands ever. I can safely say throughout my entire musical life, Strung Out has been one of the most influential bands I've ever had. If you're looking for something punk, or fast, or melodic, or hardcore then Strung Out will deliver. I have a huge amount of respect for these guys. They have never ever disappointed me with their CDs. And that's why I decided to dedicate this post to them. I bow down to you Strung Out.

Ska-punk rules and you suck Davey Havok

In a recent Rolling Stone magazine they had an interview with AFI's lead singer Davey Havok. I used to be a fan of AFI maybe five years ago, but now I don't like their music anymore. Anyways, in this interview they asked lots of personal questions to help his fans get to know him on a more personal basis. One of the questions they asked him was, "Is there any kind of music that annoys the shit out of you?" To which his response was, "I remember what was called ska-punk [...] That drove me crazy." Read the entire interview here.

This is Hell

No, this is not a post about pain, death, religion, or computers.  Instead this post is dedicated to my new favorite band called This is Hell.

New Strike Anywhere CD, concert, and vid

Ah!  Apparently one of my favorite bands, Strike Anywhere released a new CD on September 5th called "Dead FM" and I had no idea.  Damn I've been slacking lately.  I was cruisin' the Internet looking for any new punk/ska shows coming up and came across Fat Wreck Chords site.  And on the homepage was Strike Anywhere's new CD.

Punk-O-Matic

Damn! This is one of the coolest flash games/program I've used in a long while. It's called Punk-O-Matic and you can check it out below:

With this flash program you can create your own punk song. I spend over an hour tonight messing with it. It's crazy! I like it mainly because punk rocks. Plus a lot of the guitar riffs and drum lines this programmer used kick ass. Next time I'm in a band I might have to use Punk-O-Matic to help write the song. Heh.

Rise Against - The Sufferer and the Witness

Well, what can I say about this album.  Hmm, how about it sucks.  Ok, maybe that was a little harsh, but compared to their previous albums, this one is weak.  But that's understandable I guess.  I mean they are mainstream now.  So they have to play mainstream music to be cool.  Whatever.

New NOFX and RBF videos

Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  I went away this past weekend and really haven't had too much to talk about.  But I did find some new videos for NOFX and Reel Big Fish (RBF).  I like music videos, especially for punk and ska bands.  It's nice seeing the people in the band and how they turn a song into a video description.

NOFX new CD - Wolves in Wolves Clothing

I can be the first to tell you that I'm not a huge NOFX fan. They've released a couple dozen CDs and have been around forever. You could say they are one of the most well known punk bands out there with one of the largest fan bases. But I've never been a huge fan. That doesn't mean they suck or anything, it's just I don't go out and buy every one of their CD's or go and see them in concert.

Leaving Jesusland

Off of NOFX's new CD "Wolves in Wolves' Clothing":

We call the heartland, not very smartland
IQ's generally low and threat levels are high
They got a mandate, they don't want man-dates
They got so many hates and people to despise
In the dust bowl, cerebral black hole
The average weight is well over 200 pounds
I hate to generalize, but have you seen the thighs
Most haven't seen their genitalia in a while

Maybe thats why they're so scared of us
We have concerns other than fear and hunger pangs

Queers, transgends and lesbians, vegans and vegetarians
All you brownish red and yellow ones come and join us on the coast

No longer svelte, they gotta punch new holes in the bible belt
They've blown out the fire under the melting pot
The red blood of America is starting to clot
No compromise, no sight through others' eyes
They're just flies spreading peices of shit
You gotta emigrate, stop living in hate
What makes this country great is dwelling on either side

They don't want visitors in Jesusland
They want life canned and bland in the fatherland

We want people with college degrees
Drug use experience and STD's
People with open-minded philosophies, come to California please
Cultural revolution now, neo-conservatives run outta town
We're gonna burn Orange County down
And then we're off to Riverside, Bakersfield and Fresno too
Then we're coming after you

The fear stricken, born again christian
They got a vision of a homogenized state
Textbook decline, Intelligent Design
They got Bill Nye on the list to execrate

They don't want visitors in Jesusland
They want life canned and bland in the fatherland

Punk Rockers and emo kids, people doing things the church forbids
Buddhists, anarchists, and athiests, we're moving out of Jesusland
Art students and thesbians, excluding country, all the musicians
We want all hookers and comedians, nihilists are welcome too

No longer svelte, they gotta punch new holes in the bible belt

Awesome.

Emo sucks

Just found these two videos on Google.  Very inappropriate and offensive to some people yet very awesome and funny to others.  You have been warned.  Enjoy.

Bigwig's new CD - Reclamation

It's been five years since their last CD, five long years.  And with an amazing previous album (An Invitation to Tragedy) and five years to work with, Bigwig was under a lot of pressure to create an even better album.  Unfortunately, Bigwig has been going through a lot of crap within these past five years.  They've lost and gained several band members and had trouble finding a label that will help them with their new album.

Rock for sustainable capitalism

People always give me crap when I don't like a popular band - or when I used to like a band and now I don't because they've 'sold out'. Because they've turned their backs on the true and sacred love and enjoyment of music for a fatter wallet and bigger house.

A.F.I. What happened to you?

I really hate losing a great band. Sure AFI fell out of my interest several years ago, but damn they were an awesome band.
While searching through Google video I found this video of them >> Silver and Cold. What the hell is this? Davey? Is that you? What the hell happened to your hair? Or worse yet, what the hell happened to your music? I really hate the goth and emo scene that AFI now falls right into it. It's sad seeing a once kick ass, hardcore punk band turn into this.

Propaghandi's new CD - Potemkin City Limits

The same day I got the new Suicide Machines CD, I also got the new Propaghandi CD titled 'Potemkin City Limits'. So far I've been enjoying the Suicide Machines CD more and haven't really listened to the Propaghandi CD that much.

Suicide Machines's - War Profiteering is Killing Us All

Finally picked up the Suicide Machines new CD called "War Profiteering Is Killing Us All". The CD actually came out sometime in August, but I didn't get it until recently. This CD rocks! Get it now!

A Wilhelm Scream's new CD - Ruiner

I just picked up A Wilhelm Scream's new CD the other night, titled 'Ruiner'. This is the first CD of theirs that I bought. I only every heard these guys in concert and for those who know, you can't accurately judge live songs.
