What we are...

I found this cool video on Digg the other day and thought I'd share it with you. It makes a lot of sense and good points. So check it out and enjoy. FSM FTW!

Speaker for the Dead

It's been several months since the last time I read a book and I was starting to get that itch to read again. I didn't know what I wanted to read nor did anything catch my interest. So I decided to go back to a series that I started awhile ago, but never continued with. I picked up the next book in the Ender series titled Speaker for the Dead.

The best non-main Futurama characters

With 2008 comes the brand new season of one of the best cartoon shows of all time, Futurama. So, to celebrate this new season, I decided to write an article about my favorite non-main Futurama characters. By non-main I mean, characters that have only shown up in a few episodes. Anyways, here are my top 5 favorite characters:

Bring back Adam Carolla

No sooner do I post about how awesome The Adam Carolla Show is, that they then pull it off the air. I loved to listen to Adam, Teresa, and Danny every morning on my way to work. They made the trip enjoyable and helped to cheer me up on an otherwise uneventful day. But now that's all changed. Last week (Friday 6/22/07) I get in my car and turn on my radio, getting ready for the drive to work, when what does my stereo greet me with? Some flaming homo trying to free Paris Hilton from jail by playing nothing but her shitty ass songs.

The Adam Carolla Show

Usually, when ever I'm driving in my car or sitting at work, I like to listen to my music. I like to blast it in the car and have it help pass time during those long work days. As of a few months ago, I've never really listened to the radio or talk radio for that matter. The only thing I ever really listened to on the radio was baseball games. Other than that, there was never really anything that entertaining or enjoyable that would make me want to listen to the radio over my CDs. Well, that changed when Phoenix's newest talk radio station came in, featuring The Adam Carolla Show.

The best Doom fan fiction ever

I am of course talking about the amazing fan fiction written by Nick P (not me). Also known as Spineless-Mush over at PortalForums.net. This book is simply called DOOM and is, as you guessed, based off the Doom universe. Through the upcoming years that eventually lead to the release of Doom 3, I read a bunch of fan fictions based off Doom. And while the Doom universe itself lacks any real story or dept, it does contain some of the coolest monsters and environments I've ever seen in a game (or movie for that matter). But most authors of these fan fictions couldn't put these aspects into a dark, demented, engrossing, and most off awesome story that Nick P. wrote.

I miss Space Ghost

Coast to Coast to be exact. Space Coast: Coast to Coast was a damn funny cartoon/talk show that I used to watch late at night. Well, I haven't watched it on TV for the past couple of years. Mainly because it's on too late now. I believe it still airs Sunday night on Adult Swim (Cartoon Network) at around 1am. Well, I guess you can call that Monday morning rather.

Getting excited for 300

March 9th will be the day I've been anxiously looking forward to since the end of last year. The name of the movie is 300 and it looks to be a great, great action movie. This will be my first must see movie of 2007. Action, intensity, violence, and a design style all its own, 300 has got my heart pumping. 300 originally started out as a graphic novel created by Frank Miller who also created Sin City, and has now been turned into a movie that keeps the unique style of the novel (just like Sin City).

IGNs top 25 primetime animated series

IGN recently released their picks for the top 25 prime time animated shows of all time.  You can check it out here.  I thought I would throw in my two cents on their choices.  Here we go.

Punk-O-Matic

Damn! This is one of the coolest flash games/program I've used in a long while. It's called Punk-O-Matic and you can check it out below:

With this flash program you can create your own punk song. I spend over an hour tonight messing with it. It's crazy! I like it mainly because punk rocks. Plus a lot of the guitar riffs and drum lines this programmer used kick ass. Next time I'm in a band I might have to use Punk-O-Matic to help write the song. Heh.

Ender's Game

Ender's Game is a book written by Orson Scott Card.  It took me all of three (3) days to start and finish this book.  All 324 pages of it.  Each page as gripping as the last.  Why did I finish this book so fast?  No, it's not because I skimmed through it - trying to finish it in time to write a book report on it.

MPA targeting lyrics and tablature sites

Things are starting to get out of hand. We've all know for awhile that the RIAA has been suing the crap out of people who illegally download music...and that's fine.

But now the MPA has starting attacking multiple web sites that offer lyrics or guitar tabs to their songs. Several web sites have already been shut down. No longer can you access a web site to find the lyrics to your favorite songs. And we all know that not every CD comes with lyrics in its booklet. Plus, what if you buy the music online? What if you want to learn the lyrics to your favorite songs? No longer can you easily look them up. I don't know what the MPA is thinking. Maybe they like nailing down their own coffin?

Simpsons - Family Guy references

I love it when cartoons make references to each other, even if they're low blows that may start feuds. Either way I end up laughing my ass off at the reference.

For those who don't know I'm a huge fan of The Simpsons, Futurama, and The Family Guy. While each of them may of made some type of reference to each other, some of the most memorable ones are from The Simpsons. There are four right now that I can think of, starting with the most recent.

The game to movie disaster

Ahhhh! Why do they keep doing this? Why do they insist on taking perfectly good games and turning them into horrible, horrible movies? You would think after a hoard of horrible outcomes and reviews, people would stop doing this. Yet it continues. Actually, it seems to be getting worse.

Last night's Strung-Out concert

Well last night me and Jenny went to the Marquee Theatre here in Phoenix to see Strung-Out play. As always, they rocked. They kept the mix good and played their older and newer songs including 'Bring out your Dead', 'Jackie-O', 'Matchbook', 'Analog', etc. Also Jenny and I got new Strung-Out shirts.

Upcoming Strung Out concert

On Wednesday, October 19th one of my favorite punk bands will be playing here in Arizona. Strung-Out will be playing at the Marquee Theatre with other bands Stretch Arm Strong, A Wilhelm Scream, and Section 8.
