Apple's new Intel commercial

We've all known for awhile now that Apple's new Macs are going to contain Intel processors, instead of their usual, proprietary Motorola chips. Why Apple is doing this I don't really know. Maybe it's the speed increase they'll get with a normal processor like Intel, or maybe it's just the product recognition that comes with the most widely known CPU in the world.

Either way, Apple likes to make themselves feel superior by dumbing down their competition, the PC users. And their new Intel/Mac TV commercial does this exact same thing.

Check out the TV commercial here >> Apple's new Intel TV ad.

What did you notice from this commercial? I noticed two things immediately, and both of those things used the same word....'dull'. Looks like Apple has just dumbed down every Windows and Linux user by saying everything that they have been doing with their Intel chips has been 'dull'. They talked about the Intel chips being in dull boxes performing dull tasks. I don't see anything on a Mac being more exciting than on a Windows computer. As a matter of fact I see a Mac as being less exciting. And Intel does not like this commercial either. They do not like that word 'dull' being throw in there and said, "Never would we characterize our customers that way," Intel Vice President Deborah Conrad said in an interview. That's OK, usually the only way Apple can make itself look better is by dumbing down the competition. That's....marketing, I guess.

But by watching this commercial a few more times, I noticed several other odd things. In the commercial the voice over says, "The Intel chip could have been doing so much more inside a Mac." Lol, OK. If by "doing so much more" you really mean, "running 90% less software". Because that's how it is. I see an Intel inside a Mac doing far, far less things than it would do inside a PC. It's kind of an oxymoron - doing more inside a Mac. Lol, sure....whatever makes you feel better Apple.

Finally, I noticed another thing that was kind of similar to the one above. The commercial also says, "Starting today, the Intel chip will be set free and get to live life inside a Mac." Again, doesn't this statement also seem to be an oxymoron? Intel chip to be set 'free' in a Mac. Hmm....Mac-free, free-Mac. This is stupid. Mac's are the most locked down, proprietary driven computers out there. And by saying the Intel chip will be 'free' inside a Mac is just plain bullshit.

But I'm sure the level-headed PC users out there will laugh at this commercial and Apple's weak attempt to make the Intel chips sound better in their machines. And watch all the Apple fanboys slop up this crap like there's no tomorrow. You can read more on some of Apple's tactics on Pauls Blog here >> Apple a company I want to avoid.

"Imagine the possibilities" ? If I had a dollar for every time I heard that. I'm suprised Intel allows them to say such crap. and what's the deal with the suits? Are they building a Mac or are they working with chemical weapons lol
