My son and I can't get this to work either on his new dell laptop. When we installed all min requirements were check green. The program looks like it starts showing the intro screen then we get a message that the program stopped work and will shut down. we have windows vista

Those of you who are attempting to run the game on a laptop... it may be due to your video card... If I recall rightly the game "absolutely" requires a PCI-E GFX card to run and I don't think there are laptops with PCI-E slots. (Don't take my word for the last comment)

hey guys i have a problem with this game because i cant go to damascus because i believe there was an error coz im stuck in loading scene where you only see altair but it wil not progress i dnt know whats the problem pls help me...thanks....i have a core duo and my video card is geforce 1gb 9th series and 1 gb of ram...

It doesn't work here either...
I also use a laptop since my home pc doesn't have a dual core processor... As the game says after installing I reach all the minimum requirements. When I start the game it seems like averything works fine, untill I start a new game it loads and I can move my sight (under the glass thing) and then the controls are supposted to be explained but it just stops working there and when I use ALT+f4 a window pops up saying: 'an error has accured and the game needs to be shut down: end now or annulate' (or something like that you know what I mean). Also it always starts in a window for some reason (but that doesn't seem to be the biggest problem...

I use vista btw...

I hope someone can help me, I don't know much about pc's...

First off - what do you mean it doesn't work on your PC? Define "doesn't work". Second - what are your laptop's specs? That fact that you're playing this on a laptop already worries me.

why doesont it work on my pc , on a website i went on which allows u to be able to see if the game will work or not, it said that my laptop was just behind recommended but was well over the minimum????? plz write bk!!! thnx

Glad you like it. For me the fighting became better as the game went on, or with the more abilities I unlocked.

Since I got the game through Steam, there's only one exe that I know about. So I assume it's auto detecting what DX mode to run in.

So yeah, I bought it today. I've had zero DRM problems so I guess that was yet another exaggeration. The only strange thing I've encountered is that the game always starts in a window for some reason, but that's easily fixed.

Only played it for a couple hours, but it's great so far. The combat's a little disappointing, but having heard the complaints on that front I was prepared for that one. I can see what they were trying to do, at least - create a less 'cartoony' style of swordplay than their Prince of Persia games. It's not as bad as I feared, but not as good as I hoped. Ah well.

And, yeah. I really, really like how they've pulled off the other "realm" as you put it. Those intermissions are a fantastic pacing element - I can definitely see the game becoming tedious without them.

From what I understand it comes with two .exe's.

I'm pretty sure its DX10, seeing as I got Vista and DX10 video card. But I'm not too sure because there's no option to pick one.

Thanks for this. I've gotten so many conflicting reports on this game's quality that I had no idea either way, but this is certainly encouraging. I was also worried about performance, but if you had no problems in that area I should be all right since my machine's not far behind.

Did you run it in DX9 or 10?
