Well the general population is at it again. Or should I say the Internet geek population is at it again. Hungaria has a bridge that needs a name. So they created a site and started a voting poll to allow the people to choose the name. This was probably meant to be only for the Hungarian people, but somehow the news spread.
It was probably because of Chuck Norris. Somehow his name got on the ballot and he was winning for awhile with the most votes. Then the other day Jenny and I were watching the Colbert Report on Comedy Central when Stephen Colbert started talking about this bridge that may be named after Chuck Norris. So Stephen said what the hell, and put his name on the ballot as well. He then told everyone how to access the site and vote. You can watch that clip of the show here >> The Stephen Colbert Bridge (scroll half-way down and click the Play button on the video).
Ok, so now it looks like The Stephen Colbert Bridge is actually in the lead. Followed by the John Stewart Bridge. Heh, what the hell? Check out the results here. Even if these guys do win the at the end I doubt the Hungarian people will actually name the bridge after them. But still it's funny watching what happens when you hold an open poll like this.
Anyways, it's probably a good thing that they're not going to name the bridge after Chuck Norris. Because if they did there would be a lot of dead Hungarians. Nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives. :)
