March 9th will be the day I've been anxiously looking forward to since the end of last year. The name of the movie is 300 and it looks to be a great, great action movie. This will be my first must see movie of 2007. Action, intensity, violence, and a design style all its own, 300 has got my heart pumping. 300 originally started out as a graphic novel created by Frank Miller who also created Sin City, and has now been turned into a movie that keeps the unique style of the novel (just like Sin City).
300 is about the ancient Greek Spartans and their battle against the invading Persian empire. It's 300 Spartans versus a million. But it's not just 300 ordinary soldiers versus one million ordinary soldiers. It's 300 Spartans versus one million. Spartan warriors are the strongest, most fierce men ever. Get 300 of them versus a million slave warriors of the Persian empire, and this movie looks to bring amazing battle scenes to the screen.
Like I stated above, this movie looks very action packed and very intense. From what I've seen in the trailers, I love the main actor of this movie. When he's yelling and encouraging his men, it's just....awesome. It fires me up inside. It makes me want to strip down to my scivies and fight with a spear and shield next to them (sorry for the horrible mental picture).

But one of my favorite things about this movie is of course, the unique and amazing looking style. The graphics, the color, the lighting, all working together to create something I have yet to see in a movie. And just like the movie Sin City, 300 carries with it the unique style from the original graphic novels. Look at the pictures I posted in this article and check out the trailer below and you will see what I'm talking about. This movie will look different and be highly stylized, and I like that.

But my extreme excitement for this movie worries me. You see, with extreme excitement comes high expectations, and walking into a movie with high expectations is never a good thing. Now there's a greater chance that this movie could let me down. And it may not be the movie's fault or anything like that, it's just that my expectations for this movie may get too high. But with this movie, I don't see that happening.

So March 9th will be the day that 300 gets released. It's getting released in movie theaters and IMAX theaters. I haven't yet decided where I'm going to see it. It kind of depends on who's coming with me and how much money I got in my pocket. But either way I'm seeing this movie as soon as it's released. If you're an action movie fan like me, then definitely see this movie, but if you're unsure then check out the trailer below and decide for yourself.
