I miss my Xbox 360

As most of my Xbox Live friends have realized, I haven't been on my Xbox for the past couple of months. Reason? Well, between buying a new house, moving, and unpacking, I haven't had time to play with it, let alone, even hook it up. During all this activity I didn't miss the 360 mainly because I didn't even have time to think about it. But now that I'm all settled in I really want to play it again, but I can't.

During our move, we sold a bunch of crap including a TV and entertainment center. These items were older and unwanted, so getting rid of them gave us an excuse to buy newer/better items. When we finally moved into our new house, we were going to buy a new TV (a nice rear-projection, high-def, big screen) and new entertainment center. But we spent all our money on other items, like a new kitchen - pfft, who needs that? So now my Xbox 360 is homeless. It just sits there packed away in its box, lonely and sad.

Both the 360 and I are anxiously waiting for the day when it can get hooked up to a nice high-def TV and show off all its glory. In the mean time I'll just have to wait and play some PC games instead. It sucks because I really want to play some Crackdown, or try out the Forza 2 demo, but I'll just have to wait. At the end of the month Forza 2 is supposed to be released and whether my 360 is hooked up or not, I'm still buying the game. Maybe by then we'll have a new TV. Or not. Probably not.

Another issue I'm having with the 360 is trying to figure out how I'm going to hook it up to my home network to give it Internet access. In my old house, the 360 was just a room away from my router, so running a network cable was pretty simple. But in my new house I now have an upstairs and downstairs to deal with. I don't think Jenny is going to like me running a cable from my office, down the hall, down the stairs, and into the living room. My router is wireless, so I could buy the wireless adapter for the 360, but I just don't like the idea of spending a $100 freakin' dollars on the damn thing. Or I could get real messy and try to run the cables myself through the attic and down through the walls. We'll see.

So, for the time being I'm just replaying some older PC games while wishing my Xbox 360 was hooked up.

i think the wireless adapter would be the best way to go. $100 is a small price to pay to save you from the frustration of running the cables through your house. (ive tried. it sucks ass)

Another worry I have with the wireless adapter is how well it will work. I know it's not going to get a great signal. Because the 360 will be packed away in an entertainment center, downstairs, on the other side of the house from my upstairs office where my router is.

I just worry that I'm going to get a lot more lag during multiplayer sessions, or while streaming music/videos from my PC to the 360.

Dude that blows, i know of the hardship, i bust two xbox games in one day (Someone tripped over my ethernet cable twice and the console fell over, ruining the games.) I was also waiting for months to get live. Now that i get it, you cant play it?? Ill still add you, and i hope to see you on there soon.

I would put the cables in the walls since it'll just work better when your done and you can be proud of having done it yourself.
