Creative have had a copy since at least WinHEC 2004. No other soundcard manufacturer has these sort of problems, in fact I'd argue they're not problems, Creative made a business choice to try and drive forward new sales.

This is nothing new, I remember with my SoundBlaster Live, I lost a lot of functionality on Windows Me (using the 98 driver fixed all the issues), my Audigy with Windows XP, and now my Audigy 2 with Windows Vista. I've still got the few niggling issues I've had since the original drivers were released over a year ago, like the microphone volume changing and it sometimes being sent over the speakers, I've still got quad sound but heck, at least the integrated sound card actually has driver updates.

Well, since Vista is build completely different from the ground up, I can see where a lot of drivers would no longer work. But Microsoft gave their partners plenty of time to update their drivers and make them compatible with the new OS.

I know Creative has had a copy of the OS since its beta - so around 2 years now. And within those 2 years they haven't been able to create a working driver? Sounds like a Creative problem.

Well it is vista.. not saying anything bad about vista, but isnt there a problem with compatibility on alot of things?
