I've been looking to get a new smartphone for the past year, but wanted to wait until I could get one with Windows Mobile 6 installed. Well, that day came a few months ago when AT&T released their newest smartphone called Tilt. But I wanted to wait a few months for the reviews to come in and also for my contract to expire. Now that the reviews are in (and good) and the fact that I can pick one up fairly cheap by re-signing another 2 year contract, I plan on getting one here in the next few weeks.
My current smartphone, the Cingular 2125, is a great little Windows Mobile 5 phone, but it's time for an upgrade. The biggest upgrades I'm looking for include a touch screen, full QWERTY keyboard, and Windows Mobile 6. The new Tilt has all that plus more.
Other perks that I'll happily take include the Wi-Fi support, GPS support, and 3 megapixel camera. The tilting screen thing kind of worries me though. Yeah, it's cool and can make your smartphone look/act more like a laptop, but I just see it as an extra thing that could eventually wear/break. So I don't really care about that feature.
Check out its full specs below:
- Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) support
- Stereo Bluetooth 2.0
- 3 megapixel camera with 10x zoom and autofocus
- 2.8" 240x320 64k touchscreen (tilting)
- 400 MHz processor
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
- 3.6 Mbps Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900/2100
- microSD expansion slot (up to 32GB)
- Built-in GPS with Telenav GPS Navigator
- OS: Windows Mobile 6
But other than that, this phone looks great, and appears to be the best smartphone on the U.S. market right now. I'll post a full review along with pictures when I do eventually get this phone (probably after Christmas sometime). Cheers!
