October 27th, 2006 and about 4:45 pm me and my long time girlfriend Jenny got married. So, people want to know exactly how the wedding went. Did everyone show up? Did everything that was planned work out accordingly? How was the weather? Any locust swarms? Etc. Click here for some pictures.
Well to both me and Jenny's astonishment, everything went perfectly. We had to give ourselves a pat on the back after the wedding was over. Obviously me and Jenny have never planned a wedding before and doing so was a little scary. But when it came down to the day of the wedding, we realized everything was good and everything was ready. The only thing that would be out of our control would be the weather, and it too was perfect!
So me and Jenny woke up on the morning of October 27th in a kind of calm state. We had work to do before the wedding started. First, we had to run to the store and buy roses for our centerpieces (a dozen roses were $4.99 - you can't beat that). We then headed to the place where we had our wedding, Dobson Ranch. From here we put the centerpieces together with the help of Jenny's dad and her matron of honor, Kristen. We then continued to decorate the rest of the place including the gazebo where we got married. There were a lot of flowers (real and fake) and tulle. I didn't even know what tulle was before this wedding.
After that Jenny had to leave to get her hair and makeup done. Meanwhile her dad and I continued to decorate the place. When we were done we headed back to my house to get ready. I took a shower and shaved (AHH SHOCK!). We then grabbed our tuxes and headed back to Dobson Ranch around 2:30pm. When I got there the cake and flower people were already there. The cake was already set up and so where the flowers. The cake looked awesome! They did a great, great job.
After inspecting everything, and making sure everything was ready I got dressed in my all black tux. People started arriving at 3:30 - 4 pm. The weather was great. No a cloud in the sky, no wind, and not really hot. Everyone, minus a few people, showed up (even some wedding crashers, ha!). The DJ, photographer, and officiant all showed up.
Ceremony started, me and Jenny got married, signed our marriage license with the officiant and witnesses, then took lots of pictures with the photographer. After this we finally got to sit down at our head table and eat! The food was awesome! It was a buffet style course with prime rib, chicken, and all the sides you could ask for. I went back for seconds. Of course we also had a bar in which me and Jenny sponsored the beer (that means we paid for it and it was free for everyone else). The cake was also great and everyone loved it.
After dinner, we danced and partied and had a great time. We bought a bunch of disposable cameras for each table and told our guests to take lots of pictures with them. Unfortunately, a lot of those pictures didn't come out real well, but what do you expect from cheap disposable cameras.
The reception lasted until about 11 pm and we only had the DJ until 10:30 pm. After which we cleaned up and everyone left while me and Jenny went to a nice suite/resort type called The Point South Mountain, to spend the night. We didn't go on a honeymoon but instead took a few days off from work to hang out with each other. We'll probably go on a honeymoon sometime next year, when we can save up some money.
In the end this was a great wedding and I wish everyone could of been there. We have a crap load of pictures and I put a lot of them up in my gallery. So please, go and check them out. Also, me and Jenny would like to thank everyone who helped with the wedding and made it possible. Thanks guys!
