MPA targeting lyrics and tablature sites

Things are starting to get out of hand. We've all know for awhile that the RIAA has been suing the crap out of people who illegally download music...and that's fine.

But now the MPA has starting attacking multiple web sites that offer lyrics or guitar tabs to their songs. Several web sites have already been shut down. No longer can you access a web site to find the lyrics to your favorite songs. And we all know that not every CD comes with lyrics in its booklet. Plus, what if you buy the music online? What if you want to learn the lyrics to your favorite songs? No longer can you easily look them up. I don't know what the MPA is thinking. Maybe they like nailing down their own coffin?

And what about tabs? I love learning how to play my favorite songs on the guitar. But sometimes you need a little help to figure out the music. That's where tabs come in.

This is just plain stupid. It's not like these web sites are claiming these lyrics and tabs for their own. They're not stealing or infringing on their copyright. They're giving plenty of credit to the original artists. If I was in a famous band, I would love the fact that my music was out there and people could easily read my lyrics and learn to play my songs. It's bullshit.

Next the MPA and RIAA are going to make it illegal to sing along with the songs, or have a great cover band play some CCR in your local bar. Screw them.
