Well I was also happy to get Obama in office but saddend by all those assholes that voted against gays having basic civil rights. I've been going to the no on 8 protests and the protests against the mormon church. I sh think that the churches that funded these props should lose their tax exempt status. God loves, man hates.

I was quite excited about Obama as well.
Proposition 2 passed here which is essentially the same as 102.
It bans and voids civil unions and domestic partnerships though being that gay marriages were already B7.
Was also disappointed about Prop 8 in California.

Having elected Obama hopefully this country will see change at issue that doesn't ring of words like "ever-lasting violence", "stagnation", and "degeneration".... basically, all the things Bush, Cheney, and co. plugged at. Change won't come in a limpid instant but at least we know we won't be continuing the same convoluted things.

Prop 8 passed as well. Sad, that war is so bound into society that we can't help but react to that which is divergent violently. Might as well replace "same sex marriage" with "different people marriage"; you'd be doing the same thing effective. If homosexuals were heterosexuals from the get go, the same thing would be happening. Legal union is about equality, not sex. Is hate such a scary, profound, and irrevocable force that it must be directed everywhere - including inward?

Not to be too morbid or negative, though. Good post nontheless. I look forward to supporting Obama and Biden fully throughout their tenure.

First off congratulations on having a president who isn't an idiot. Most people around here are relieved. One of the first things I did this morning was see how Arizona went. Sorting those right-wingers out can be your task for the next election mate. :p

Now we just have to make sure Obama doesn't fail to deliver.
