Rebuilding front suspension and brakes

I finally got everything I need to re-do my front suspension and brakes on my truck.  In the above picture I got new Belltech coils that'll drop a truck 2" (inches) lower than stock, and new Belltech shock absorbers that are specifically designed for trucks with a 2"-4" drop.  These two will hopefully improve my ride quaility a lot, because right now my truck rides like crap.  Also in the picture are new brake rotors and pads.  They should improve my braking greatly.

But Nick, I thought you already bought dropped coils for your truck?  I did.  I first lowered my truck five years ago.  I lowered the front 4" with 2" dropped coils and 2" dropped spindles.  But when my dad and I installed everything the truck did not sit 4" lower in the front.  WTH indeed.  At most the truck dropped 3" in the front.  So being the dumb and naive kid I was back then, I cut a half a coil off the front coils.  This of course would lower the truck but at the same time completely destroy any specifics that was built into these specialty designed coils.  But the end result lowered the front another 2" for a total of 5".  And it looked awesome.  It still looks awesome today.

The problem is, having a truck this low to the ground with no air suspension is a pain in the ass.  I scrape and bottom out on everything.  But I've lived with it for the past 5 years.  Well now I'm sick of it.  So I got new coils that will hopefully raise the truck back up an inch (doesn't sound like a lot but it is).  I think I know what happened to the original coils and why they didn't lower my truck the full 2".  Coils have to be specifically designed and created for your exact type truck.  Whether you have a 1/2 ton truck, a 3/4 ton truck, or a full ton truck with a V8 or V6 or diesel, with an extended cab or standard, with a fleet side or step side.  You see?  There are a lot of variables that come into place when getting the correct coil for your truck.  Well when I ordered these new coils, they sent me the wrong ones.  So I sent them back and they again sent me the wrong ones.  On the third shipment I finally got the correct coils and even verified this with Belltech.  So I think the first coils I ordered 5 years ago were for the wrong truck.

Anyways, why the shocks?  Because the current shocks on my truck are for a stock ride height truck and not designed for a truck that's 2"-4" lowered.  So these new shocks are designed for this type of truck and will greatly improve the handling and ride quality.

Finally, the brakes.  My current front rotors are completely warped which makes my steering wheel and brake pedel vibrate while braking.  So instead of getting them simply turned, I just got new rotors and brake pads.

Hopefully, I'll get this all put together by the end of March.  I'll definitely post my results when done.  Thanks!
