I love it when cartoons make references to each other, even if they're low blows that may start feuds. Either way I end up laughing my ass off at the reference.
For those who don't know I'm a huge fan of The Simpsons, Futurama, and The Family Guy. While each of them may of made some type of reference to each other, some of the most memorable ones are from The Simpsons. There are four right now that I can think of, starting with the most recent.
Last Sunday a new episode of The Simpsons aired called 'The Italian Bob'. In it the Simpsons travel to Italy and meet up with criminal Sideshow Bob. The Italians do not know that Bob is a criminal. When they find out they pull out a book titled US Criminals (or something similar). As they flip through the book you see pictures of Snake, and Mayor Quimby. But then they show a picture of Peter Griffin from The Family Guy and under his name it says 'plagiarismo'. This had me cracking up as it indicated that The Family Guy is plagiarizing The Simpsons. But then it got even better. On the next page of the book was a picture of Stan Smith from American Dad, and under him it said 'plagiarismo di plagiarismo'. This was great as it suggested that American Dad was a rip-off from The Family Guy that was a rip-off of The Simpsons. lol, I love it.
Some other Simpsons to Family Guy references included one of The Simpsons 'Tree House of Horrors' episodes. In this episode Homer comes across a hammock that can clone people. He ends up cloning himself thousands of times. As the camera pans through all the Homer clones we see Peter Griffin in the mist of all of them. You can see the clip here >> Simpsons - Peter Clone.
The last Simpsons to Family Guy reference I know of is where Homer makes a fake donation to PBS to keep his shows on air. Towards the end of the episode, actress Betty White is talking to viewers pleading for their charity to keep them on the air. She talks about keeping crap off of television and while doing so, turns off a TV with an episode of Family Guy playing.
Some of these may be low blows to The Family Guy, but I still think it's great and funny as hell. I'm laughing right now as I type this. The last reference has something to do with Bender from Futurama appearing in an episode of the Simpsons.
